In 1983, Stefan Bellof drove the turbocharged 2.65 liter flat-six Porsche 956 around the Nürburgring recording a lap time of 6:11:13. Averaging more than 124 miles per hour in one lap on one of the world’s most beautiful and difficult racetracks, he set a track record that still stands today.
